Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness!
Jun 29, 2022The 4th of July this year is going to be epic! After 2 years, we have the opportunity to recognize, celebrate and commemorate Life Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. But what does that even mean anymore? I believe the declaration of independence was very specific in its verbiage putting LIFE as the primary inalienable right. Having a life isn’t the same as not being dead. Life is the state characterized by the ability to get and use energy, reproduce, grow, and respond to change. Without life, one cannot enjoy liberty, and one definitely cannot pursue happiness. The 4th of July is about having an abundance of Life!
In order to have life, our bodies require movement, our souls desire connection, and our minds demand purpose. Without all three: connection, purpose, and movement we gradually regress in life. We saw this become unarguably clear over the last 2 years of the COVID-19 Pandemic and associated mandates. People had a clear purpose, “slow the spread”, but being stuck inside, or 6 feet away from any other human being, they lost connection and movement. Over the course of 2 years, we observed an increase in health challenges, psychiatric disorders, and domestic violence across our country. Now that COVID-19 is accepted as a part of the common virus ecosystem, our bodies need movement, our souls need connection, and we need a new purpose for a better life.
In our clinic, we witnessed firsthand the effects of inactivity and social disconnection, both through loss of expression of life but also through its restoration. So, are you ready to regain a little life? You are not alone. Our clinic is fully committed to the restoration of life in order to grow the next generation of healthy kids that know that God made them be healthy and FULL of life.
Because it takes a community to accomplish this goal, our clinic is the main sponsor of the Arlington Runners Club, and fully supports all of its events with time, energy, and manpower. This 4th of July weekend, the Arlington Runners Club is hosting the Annual Foam 5k, Pedal Paddle Puff Triathlon, and Stilly Beer and Wine Garden. They are a community of people dedicated to service and have a festival to feed the body, soul, and mind.
For connection, join us all weekend at the Stilly Beer and Wine Garden. There will be ICE COLD craft beers from Skookum, WhiteWall, Rivertime, In The Shadows Brewery, hard Ciders from Elemental Cider Company, and Wine from Arlington Grocery Outlet, and nonalcoholic Kombucha donated by Glory Bucha. Aside from refreshing beverages, we will have LIVE MUSIC on July 2nd and 3rd from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm performed by Stilly Lockdown! Bring your friends, make some new friends, and get back some connection that’s good for the soul.
For movement, commit to the Foam 5k with the whole family OR get a group of friends and compete in the Pedal Paddle Puff Triathlon on the 4th of July. The Foam 5k will have multiple foam/music blasting stations. Imagine 8-foot high foam mountains to run through, with a nontoxic organic solution and the shrieks of joy from your kids. Before heading off to the family BBQ, move your body in the morning.
For an epic purpose, start a NEW tradition this YEAR and join together with the community in Arlington, get reconnected to Life, Liberty, and dedicate the rest of 2022 to the pursuit of happiness.
